I will definetly test the MBC once I've reached max Mastery Rank. It seems to me this could be a nice combination for Mesa. You said 'Vital Sense or Hammer Shot' - so shooting through the balls will actually profit from the crit damage multiplier. So classic elemental build + Protective shieldlike placement + AkLex Prime as secondary Originally posted by cursedmoon13:Short answer: you're not really going to do damage with your balls, until they explode, which takes a while, and doesn't seem to have a huge radius (decent, but not huge). It works quite well against the corrupted faction. With this, you can block off a hallway with an orb that blocks enemy bullets and has a good chance to CC anyone who tries to approach, do significant corrosive damage firing through the orb, and decent toxin damage (for corpus enemies) without firing through the orb.

For mods, I'd recommend the standard Split Chamber + Serration, Vital Sense or Hammer Shot (but not Point Strike, all your crit chance comes from firing through the orbs) and mod for blast and toxin (which becomes corrosive when fired through the orbs) using dual stat elemental mods to your taste. Otherwise, probably the best use of the weapon is to use the orbs as a shield and a damage multiplier for the primary fire or for a secondary weapon. If you insist on doing damage with the balls ONLY, you'll just have to fire a bunch in the direction of the enemy, but spaced enough apart to not combine, and wait for the explosion while hoping the enemy stays there (blast or cold could help, I guess). The orbs do fairly minor damage on contact, but are guaranteed to proc a status (either radiation by default, or any elements you put on it in addition), they also block enemy bullets, and add electricity damage and crit chance (a flat amount, not based on your weapon's crit chance, this is huge) to your and your allies' shots fired through them, then they explode after 9 seconds, doing decent electricity damage (plus elemental mods) in an okay radius. Long answer: The mutalist quanta is a weird, tricky weapon. Short answer: you're not really going to do damage with your balls, until they explode, which takes a while, and doesn't seem to have a huge radius (decent, but not huge).
